Have you ever wondered what the life expectancy of your mattress is? When is it really time to replace? After using a mattress for several years continuously, you will start to question yourself about the lifespan of the mattress. Although all the mattresses have predetermined lifespan depending on the brand, type, and your body composition, the actual lifespan of a mattress depends on several other factors like the way you cared for and treated your mattress over the time. Mentioned below are some common symptoms you can observe when your mattress may have exceeded its lifespan.
No matter what the brand of your mattress, you should look for these symptoms with a good mind to replace your mattress if you are experiencing any of them and if you expect the best output from your mattress.
Greetings are rare in many stores that you walk or log into. In the rare event that you are greeted by a salesperson it's typical that they will begin steering you towards the best selling section or start vomiting on you with so much information that you never dreamed you would be exposed to. Now, some of you may like like this approach, however, at My Ultimate Mattress we promise not to vomit on you with overwhelming information that only ends up confusing and frustrating you to the point of dreading being where you are at the moment. Instead, we will warmly welcome you into our store and allow you to express your needs rather than expect you follow us around like a puppet on a string.
There are significant and resonating ways that My Ultimate Mattress is different from any mattress chain store that you have ever been too. As stated in the intro above, we will warmly greet you and allow you to provide information that enables us to assist you in your search for the right mattress or furniture. We are here to serve you and that is why we have developed a series of questions (see Mattress Questionnaire and/or Pillow Questionnaire) that allows important dialogue between both parties so that we can provide you with the best service. For any product, it is important for us to know who you are making the investment for. Is it yourself or other family member? It's also important for us to know what your present sleep pattern is and if you have any medical conditions that need to be considered because the last thing you need is for your investment to make any condition worse. What are your likes/dislikes in regards to your comfort preference? No one wants to invest in something they dislike or that does not bring a solution to their needs. How much are you willing to invest in yourself and quality sleep? Now, there are certainly limitations to what each individual can invest, but it is important to know a budget so that we can match the best possible solution to fit your needs. We want to know the age of your current sleep set. Maybe you have only had it 2-3yrs or maybe you have had it over 10yrs. Regardless, there are things we can learn about your current experience that can make your next experience more positive. We are here to learn too. There maybe products or services that you have utilized that we are unaware of and we certainly are open to hearing how these may have benefited you.
At the end of the day, we are not here to pressure you with high pressure sales tactics. Rather, we are here to educate and be educated so that it begins a healthy, positive, and lasting relationship between us. We care and that is why we ask questions so that we can assist you and serve you best. Thank you for taking the time to answer!
A lot has happened in 2015. You have experienced and endured so much more than what was on your calendar for the year. For that matter we all have, however, that actually makes the end of the year a great time for reflection and a great time to take inventory of how your mental and physical self currently resides.
What will you keep from this year and what will you discard? Who will you keep and who will you fire?
Seriously, take time to ask and answer these questions and plan ahead for the new year. If you have already made some plans, great! Review and pursue. If you have yet to make plans it is not too late and you will still be ahead of the majority who fail to plan and prosper. Regardless if you look at this time of year to make resolutions or if you think they are not worthwhile at all, it is indeed a great time to acknowledge the previous year for what it was and what opportunities lie ahead in the new year.
My guess is that you can pinpoint things that are negatives in your life--yourself, certain things or certain people that bog you down and keep you from maximizing your potential. I admire individuals who are able to eliminate negative things and negative people from their lives. Sometimes you do need help identifying these things. Irregardless, why in the world would you want to keep an inventory stocked full of negatives? Let's make a pledge today to make 2016 the best year that there has ever been and to eliminate negative things/persons from our lives without looking back. Make a conscious effort to invest with the right mentors/coaches that accentuate your positives and your strengths. Use your natural abilities and the knowledge from your mentors/coaches to take back the reigns on your life and your business. Knowing that you are not in the fight and the grind alone is paramount. We don't know how much time that there is to excel, but knowing that every second spent doing anything else is just a wasted second.
I'm so excited about 2016!!!! I hope that you are in a place where you are excited too. If you are not, there is help to get you there as long so long as you have the drive and desire to be there. One of my favorite quotes is "wherever you are, be there." That's rather profound if you let it sink in.
Here's to all of you!! Happy New Year! Happy New You!

We will give you an awesome quote right out of the gate because we are interested in fitting the needs of your home at an affordable price without sacrificing quality. Each item comes with factory warranty to cover against structural defects should an issue arise.
Where will your furniture come from and when will you get it? There are many items that are showcased at the Homewood showroom, however, out of the more than 15,000 items available there simply is no way to show them all to you in person. Hence, the catalogs are available online and in store for you to enjoy. When you order furniture it is generally shipped from a southeastern distribution center. This allows for speedy service to our location and yours! In many cases, we can have your furniture in 4-5 business days--NOT 6 weeks! In some cases you can get even your furniture in 1-2 business days! Is that awesome or what? Also, we will never offer you an item that is no longer available…There are stores that will sell you an item, make you wait 6 weeks or more, and then try to sell you an item you don’t want in place of your 1st choice!!!! That’s called a racket!!
We work hard to ensure your furniture arrives in a timely fashion and in mint condition! Great service on top of cutting out unnecessary costs ensures that you will get the lowest price, top quality, and the best value so that you will come back for years and years to come to meet your furniture and mattress needs!! We look forward to serving you soon!!
After a long day, there is 'insult to injury' if you are faced with a long night of trying to get yourself in an optimal position that allows you to completely relax while sleeping. Looking forward to unrest is anything but appealing. Fortunately, there is a solution that has proven highly beneficial for many that literally moves your sleep set into a position that helps you get the sleep that you deserve. A COMFORT BASE, or more commonly referred to as an adjustable bed, is an optimal way to move your body into a position that enhances your reading, TV watching, Sleeping, or other activities with the touch of a button. :)
Have you ever wondered why so many of us curl up when we sleep? It's actually a natural "wonder" that starts in the womb--the Fetal Position. Moreover, sleeping in a curled position takes away strain of muscles and tendons while keeping the spine in line, further keeping pressure at a minimum. Comfort Bases allow the head and foot of the bed to be elevated so that you can find the position that relieves the most pressure and strain on your body. This is often called the "zero gravity" position. Whatever you call it, it is one of the greatest enhancements that you could ever add to your sleeping environment. Being able to elevate the head of bed can also help relieve ailments such as reflux, snoring, inadequate blood flow, and more. Managing pregnancy and home health care is also significantly aided by the abilities of a comfort base because it adds the element of safety and security. I'm sure you will agree that is an experience we all want and need.
Of course, a comfort base is only part of the solution. A quality hybrid, memory foam, pocketed coil, or custom mattress should be combined with your base so that your sleep and comfort are not compromised. If you haven't tested a comfort base setup before, we cordially invite you to do so at our showroom in Homewood, AL. You can experience the full range of motion and sleep enhancement features that you could soon be enjoying in your own home. I'll tell you from experience that my beautiful wife and I enjoy the exact setup that is featured here at My Ultimate Mattress. It truly is one of the greatest investments we have made in our lives. With all of the time that everyone spends sleeping it makes sense to at least consider the benefits of a comfort base and how it can literally enhance your life!

Today someone posted an ad attempting to sell a king mattress set that they bought two weeks ago from a large retail chain for $2700. Their asking price is $1500 and the reason for selling is that it is too firm. Let's ask some questions regarding this whole situation. Was the decision to purchase this item due more in part to the marketing of the company and knowledge of the salesperson or to the need and/or wants of the consumer? What changed over the two weeks that led the consumers to determine that the mattress was too firm? Did they spend ample time laying and 'test-resting' the mattress in store? Did they overlook the overall comfort of the bed for their family based on the excitement of getting a brand new bed? What other options did they consider? Did they feel like they had to make a large investment in an attempt to improve their overall sleep? These are great questions so far. Does the benefit of the mattress outweigh the cost? Maybe that is the greatest question. Unfortunately, that did not seem to be the case in this matter. Now the consumer has a mattress they don't like, feels remorse about the purchase, sleeps unlike they desire, and must relive the process of choosing the "right" mattress. This is a debacle that we all want to avoid, but sometimes we get sucked into or get led to believe that we are making the right choice when, in fact, it ends up being the wrong one. Consider all options. Did these consumers know that there are high quality mattress sets from many different brands for less than a 1/3 of the price they paid? Did you know that there is no 'one-style fits all' when it comes to mattresses? It's true. There are so many options that create an overwhelming feeling, but the key is to invest "REAL" time into the purchase of a new mattress set so that you make a decision that is ultimately right for you and your family.
Sleep Well Always,

So it's been a tough winter. Clouds, rain, snow, ice, cold, dreary, doldrums, worries, doubts, yucky politics, etc... Whew!! Enough of all of that!
Here's the best part: You survived, you persevered, you made the grind, and you became battle tested!. It's time now to spring into action!!! The sun is shining, trees are budding/blooming, birds are singing, and the cool, crisp, refreshing air rushes through your nostrils & straight to your brain with a soothing, calming sensation! Life is grand!! It's time to press on & make the most of your opportunities!
Speaking of springs, (nice segue above) do you realize their importance? Oh yeah!!! Think of how many products you use daily that require them-- tools, firearms, vehicles, toys, etc. Oh yeah, in many cases, your MATTRESS too! Springs are such a vital part of our lives, but did you know that just as winter may wear you down, springs can wear down over time too? You could be faced with a broken item or a mattress that no longer supports you adequately. Now is the time to inspect yourself and your belongings to see if they are giving you the support you need!!
Be your own spring! Actively participate in your life and the life of others while pushing back against all of the negative forces that confront you. If your spring loaded item isn't working correctly, replace the spring. Replace the negative thoughts in your mind and expel the negativity in your own environment. Spring away from the chains that hold you down!
It's going to be an amazing spring, and amazing seasons going forward! Now that you are your own spring you can set out on your voyage to make new & super accomplishments. Your spring has sprung into action!
We are excited to see where your voyage leads!
